Earth is our shared home, and sustainable development is crucial to the future of humanity. For a long time, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have always attached great importance to the construction of ecological civilization, establishing resource conservation and environmental protection as a fundamental national policy, and sustainable development as a national strategy. Striving to achieve carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060 is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee after careful consideration, and it is a solemn commitment China has made to the world. The surface engineering industry, as an indispensable part of China's economic and social development, must undertake the transformation towards green and low-carbon.

Advancing green development, we strive to be pioneers. The Chinese surface engineering industry has deeply studied and implemented the concept of ecological civilization, resolutely implementing the decisions and deployment concerning ecological civilization construction by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. It has always adhered to the concept of green sustainable development, being enterprising and proactive, making the green foundation and characteristics of high-quality development more prominent.

Entering the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, green and low-carbon development has become an essential aspect of enhancing the industry's viability, competitiveness, development strength, and sustainability. We must fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development concept, maintain strategic resolve, and plan for the high-quality development of the surface engineering industry from the perspective of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. We must deeply understand the historical continuity and developmental stages, actively serve the national "dual-carbon" strategy, and promote the construction of modernization with Chinese characteristics through practical actions.

To achieve this goal, the collective efforts of everyone are indispensable. Here, the China Surface Engineering Association puts forward the following initiatives:

Make green the primary hue of high-quality development in the surface engineering industry. Unite the advantages of governments, enterprises, social organizations, and the public, with the 'dual-carbon' strategy as our guide. Center on the people's aspiration for a better life, grasp historical opportunities, and boost the construction of a modern socialist powerful nation. Coordinate development with safety, green initiatives, services, and efficiency, drive systemic and institutional reforms, and perfect the green standards system. Enhance the synergy between industry, academia, research, and practical application. Engage in international exchanges on energy conservation and carbon reduction in the surface engineering industry, contributing Chinese wisdom to the sustainable development of the global surface engineering industry.
